Richard J. “Dick” Bosse, 89, of Montville Township, passed away June 22, 2023, at Maplewood of Chardon.
Richard was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Euclid, the son of the Late Romeo and Ida (nee Charette) Bosse, of Montville.
He was a proud United States Marine veteran of the Korean War, for which he received a Purple Heart.
After his honorable discharge, he married the late Julia Cerbin in March of 1956.
Richard went on to retire from the International Operating Engineers Local 18.
He and Julia spent many winters at their home on the Silver Dollar Ranch in Oddessa, Fla., with their golden retriever, Major.
He enjoyed parachute jumping and was also an avid trap and skeet shooter, known for shooting skeet from his hip.
Richard took pride in his lawn on Route 6 (“G.A.R. Highway”) and always kept it looking its best at all times.
He is survived by his children, Rick (Melissa) Bosse, of Montville, Trent (Donna) Bosse, of Rome, Mona (Dave) Seiler, of Montville; friend and companion, Joan Neely; sisters, Doris (Claude) Ham, of Modesto, Calif., and Dianne Bosse, of Huntsburg Township; grandchildren, Cheyanne Boose, Garrett Bosse and Bradley Seiler; great-grandchildren, Brantley and Gracie Seiler; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Romeo and Ida Bosse; wife, Julia Bosse; and a grandson, Brenan Seiler.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 7 p.m., at Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main St., Orwell, where friends and family will gather from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be given to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
