Irene E. (nee Chapman) Wilmot Wheeler, age 93, of Concord Township, peacefully passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 23, 2023.
She was born April 12, 1930, to Clyde and Esther (nee Cantner) Chapman, in Painesville.
Irene worked for Sanborn Plastics for over 27 years, retiring in 1992.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making blankets for every great grandchild. Loved reading the Bible, living it and was a prayer warrior. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a champion at Upwards, Scabble and Dominoes.
Most of all, she treasured spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, David (Ann) Wilmot, of Burton, James (Pamela) Wilmot, of Claridon Township, Donna (James ) Beal, of Concord, Dennis (Helen) Wilmot, of Aurora, and Timothy (Deborah) Wilmot, of Claridon; 14 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; brother Don Flynn; and sisters, Wanda Gear and Gloria Fuerst.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and step-mother, Mabel (nee Freeman) Flynn Chapman; first husband, Kenneth Wilmot; second husband, Kenneth Wheeler; daughter Jeanette Wilmot; and brothers Jack Chapman, Richard and Ralph Traucht.
Family will receive friends June 30, 2023, from 5-7 p.m., and July 1, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon.
Burial will follow at the Claridon Center Cemetery.
