BURTON – Michael David Keyes, 64, of Burton, passed away at his home May 30, 2016, with his family by his side.
Mike was born May 30, 1952, in Cleveland, to David and Jean (nee Gharky) Keyes. He was a graduate of Newbury High School and a lifelong resident of Geauga County.
Mike married Laurie Ludlow on Nov. 29, 1980.
He worked in construction for Panzica Construction Company, in Highland Heights, until he retired in 2010.
He was a member of Burton Congregational Church.
Mike enjoyed playing softball for years, being outdoors, golfing, traveling to Myrtle Beach and being the best “Papa” he could to his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Laurie Keyes, of 35 years; children, Tamra (Jason) Bell, of Burton, David (Rachael) Keyes, of Conway, S.C., Alicia (Shawn) Lillibridge, of Burton, Amber (Josh) Vanek, of Garrettsville, and Tyler Keyes, of Burton; grandchildren, Travis and Norah Bell, Jace and Paisley Vanek, Gavin, Brody and Aubree Lillibridge, and Maxwell Keyes; mother, Jean Keyser, of Middlefield; brothers Gary Keyes, of Chardon, and Jerome (Lynn) Keyes, of Chagrin Falls; and sisters, Alice Cochran, of Chester Township, Sue Hattendorf, of Columbus, and Kathy Sullivan, of Willoughby.
His father, David Keyes; step-dad, Claire Keyser; and brother Danny Keyes precede him in death.
Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. June 2 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. June 3 at Burton Congregational Church, “on the square,” 14559 W. Park St.
