CHARDON – Thomas C. Janes II, age 28, of Chardon, passed away Feb. 25, 2016, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
Born May 27, 1987, in Cleveland, to Thomas C. and Lorraine (nee Harris) Janes, he was a longtime Chardon resident and 2005 graduate of Chardon High School, before moving to Mentor seven years ago.
Tom was a sales associate at the Mentor AT&T communications store for over seven years.
He was a Cleveland sports “super fan,” thinking each year was “the year.”
Tom was a gifted musician, playing the violin from age 6, followed by the saxophone, which earned him first chair in the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, traveling to Europe for concert tours in 2003 and 2005.
He had a great sense of humor, was big hearted and enjoyed helping his friends.
Survivors include his parents, Tom and Lorraine, of Chardon; Halle (Scott) Cupp, of Cincinnati; son, Jackson Robert Janes Pilny, of Mentor; grandma, Anna (nee Hitchcock) Morgan, of Russell Township; and many extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Margaret Harris.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Feb. 28, 2016, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Jackson Pilny for his cystic fibrosis medical expenses. Checks may be given to the family.
