CHARDON – Eleanor M. (nee Phillippe) Brown, age 73, of Chardon, died Feb. 22, 2016, at University Hospital, Cleveland.
Eleanor was born in East Cleveland, on April 30, 1942, to Edgar J. and Alvena (nee Ledwith) Phillippe.
Eleanor graduated from Chardon High School, Class of 1960, and was employed as a dispatcher for the Chardon Police Department since 1962. She retired as Chief Dispatcher in March 2004. She also became a part-time police officer in 1983.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy (Bernie) McKinney, of Estero, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer Velotta, of Estero, and Nicholas (Michelle) Velotta, of Fort Myers, Fla.; step-daughter, Holly (James, deceased) Krueger, of Hambden Township; step-son, James (deceased) and his wife, Leigh Brown, of Chardon; and step-grandchildren, Bryan Gribbons, James Brown and Victoria Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester H. Brown.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at Lakeview Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. (Meet at Mayfield Road gate entrance at 12:45 p.m. to follow precession through the cemetery).
