CHARDON TWP. – Sara L. Ferraro (nee Scardefield), age 69, of Chardon Township, died Sept. 19, 2017, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
Born Sept. 8, 1948, in Beacon, N.Y., to Henry and Louise (nee Straughn) Scardefield, she lived most of her life in California, and had lived in Chardon Township for the last four years.
Throughout her career, she was in billing at several medical centers in Las Vegas and Texas.
Sara enjoyed cross-stitch, reading and connecting with friends on Facebook.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her son and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Aaron Ferraro, and his children, Brittany and Ethan.
She also leaves her sisters, Anita Tomaszewski, of North Carolina, and MaryJane Rodrigues, of New York; and in-laws, Joseph Sr. and Lucille Ferraro.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 36 years, Joseph Ferraro Jr.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m.
Private family burial will be held at a later date.
