Ronald E. Redding

CHARDON TOWNSHIP – Ronald E. Redding, age 83, of Chardon Township, died Sept. 15, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 20, 1934, to Elmer and Ernestine (nee Kraus) Redding, in Cleveland, he has been a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Redding proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Celebration Lutheran Church in Chardon, singing in the church choir.

Mr. Redding was a talented artist, having minored in art in college.

He and his family enjoyed skiing, traveling around the country.

He retired from the U.S. Department of Labor after many years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sandra (nee Weber) Redding; children, Tod Redding, of Mentor, Kevin (Diane) Redding, of Newbury Township, and Wendy (Tom) Culp, of Mentor; grandchildren, Mitchell, Emma and Noah Culp; and brother Wayne (Lynn) Redding, of Chagrin Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dale Redding; and daughter-in-law, Shelley Redding.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 19 at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road, Chardon Township.

Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.

The family suggests donations be made to The City Mission, 5310 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103.
