Denver G. Yeater, age 89, peacefully passed away on Jan. 1, 2024.
Born Dec. 6, 1934, in West Virginia, to Ben and Goldie Yeater, Denver proudly served in the U.S. Army and later became a dedicated foreman in various machine shops.
On Dec. 28, 1955, Denver married the love of his life, Marilyn Hummel, in a small town ceremony in Thompson Township. Together, they forged a life spanning nearly seven decades, making their home and raising a family in Geauga County.
Denver found joy in simple pleasures, from skiing to golf, and his visits to the casino with his son became cherished pastimes. Yet, nothing surpassed the love he held for his family. His grandchildren brought immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Denver is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn Yeater, of Chardon; sons, Denver (Barbara) Yeater, of Perry, and Phillip (Keli) Yeater, of Huntsburg Township; and daughter, Josy Haggard, of Washington.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Mitch Haggard.
Visitation for family and friends will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Jan. 8, 2024, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon and burial will follow the services at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
