Jennie Alice (nee Roush) Bemberg, age 82, of Burton Township, died Sept. 17, 2023, at her home.
Jennie was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 18, 1941, to Clarence A. and Faye G. (nee Busenburg) Roush.
She was a graduate of The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and went on to teach elementary school for several years.
Jennie married her husband, Frederick Bemberg, in Columbus, on July 7, 1973. They moved to Burton, where she worked at Trusco Incorporated in office administration for over 30 years.
Married 49 years, Fred preceded her in death on June 18, 2022.
She was an active member of the Middlefield Historical Society for 40 years. She enjoyed baking cookies for the Middlefield Historical Society’s Christmas Cookie Sale and helping to promote their Holiday Home Tour.
A “Rotary Ann” volunteer for the Burton-Middlefield Rotary Club, she was often seen making omelets with Fred during BMR’s pancake breakfasts.
She and her husband established the Frederick W. and Jennie Bemberg Endowed Master Clinician in Medical Oncology at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in 2021.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, from 5-8 p.m., at the Veterans Legacy Woods Freedom Hall, 14085 Ravenna Road, Newbury Township.
