Theodore “Ted” Lynn McWayne passed away July 24, 2023, at University Hospital Cleveland with his wife by his side.
Ted was born July 15, 1949, to Herbert and Emma McWayne.
Ted graduated from Burton High School in 1967 and was employed by Haueter’s for a couple of years before obtaining employment with the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, retiring after 38 years.
He was a member of the Sly Fox Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his bike and taking trips with its members and his close friends. Ted also enjoyed gardening, boating and tubing with his wife’s family up at the Bay, hunting, fishing, camping with the kids in his 1972 green Dodge van, cooking with his wife and watching old westerns.
Ted was well known for being a good friend to everyone he met. You could find him in the afternoon catching up with friends and neighbors throughout the county.
Ted is survived by his wife, Judy, of 41 years; step-sons, Jeff Wellington, Jim Wellington and John Wellington; grandchildren, Dylan Wellington and Skylar Wellington; and nephews, Douglas and Denny McWayne.
Ted was preceded in death by his mother and father, Herbert and Emma McWayne; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Diane McWayne; aunt and uncle, Anna Palykoski and Peter Palykoski; and his beloved dogs, Penny and Maggie.
A Celebration of Life with family and close friends will be held at a later date.
