On July 10, 2023, Jerrie Hill was called home to join the many friends and loved ones who had passed before her.

Born July 15, 1928, as Jerrie Lee Gore, she was a lifelong resident of Newbury Township. She graduated in the class of 1946.

Jerrie was a devoted full-time wife and mother. Proud to be a tough old farm girl, she stood firm to teaching old-school principles and practices to her children and their friends. Not an easy thing to do in the 1960s and 70s.

She was active in 4-H, both as a child and teaching cooking and sewing to her daughters and their friends, and outdoor cooking to her son and friends.

She loved to fish, garden, host cookouts at the lake in the summer and ice skating parties in the winter. She also enjoyed playing cards and Rummikub with her friends and grandchildren.

She is survived by daughter Vickie Hill; son, Dirk Hill; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Marjorie Gore; husband, Denver Hill Jr.; daughter Denise Mitchell; and great-granddaughter Lyliana Gliha.

A celebration of life and internment will be held at a later date(s) yet to be determined.
