Wanda Yost (nee Vance), age 89, of Aquilla Village, peacefully passed away on June 14, 2023, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
She was born July 9, 1933 to John and Bessie Vance in Pennsylvania, later settling in West Virginia.
On March 28, 1951, she married Burrlie Glenn Yost in Cleveland. They moved to Aquilla Village in 1959, where they raised their sons.
For nearly 30 years, Wanda served lunch at Chardon Middle School and thoroughly enjoyed the students she met.
She loved to travel with her husband, visiting many places throughout the years, especially trips to West Virginia.
Wanda was a garden enthusiast, taking great pride in her yard and flower gardens. But her truest joy was the time spent with her family.
Wanda is survived by her son Richard, of Aquilla Village; grandsons, Scott, Eric and Nathen; and nephews, William and Richard Lee Yost, and John “Van” Vance Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Robert; and brother, John Vance Sr.
Visitation will be held June 23, 2023, from 5-7 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A graveside service will be held June 24, 2023, at 1 p.m., at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, 1290 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, W. Va.
