Robert T. Keller Jr., of Chardon Township, passed away Nov. 25, 2022, at the age of 64. He was born Feb. 11, 1958, in Jacksonville, Fla., to Robert and Arden Keller.
Robert spent his childhood in Jacksonville and later Metairie, La., where he completed the majority of his education. Eventually his family settled in Chardon, where he would graduate from high school and spend the remainder of his life.
Robert was a skilled craftsman who built his dream home from the foundation up. He found the greatest happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed cooking and was always experimenting with new recipes. But even more than cooking, he enjoyed eating, and was always enthusiastic about trying new dishes.
He liked building fires in his fireplace, reading about Florida’s citrus industry, watching the news and walking through the dunes at Mentor Headlands State Park. He also enjoyed tinkering on engines, bargain shopping, debating about current affairs, chatting about the weather, vegetable gardening and reading the funnies in the newspaper. His favorite comic strips could often be found cut out and hanging on the fridge for his enduring entertainment.
Robert relished attending any social event where family and friends would gather for revelry. His jovial laughter will be missed by all those that had the good fortune to hear it.
He is survived by brothers, Richard Keller and Gordon Keller (Louise); nephew, Emmett Keller (Anne); nieces, Madeleine Keller (Jake Kelly) and India Keller (Anthony Pietro); and great-nephews, Arden and Ambrose Keller.
There will be a memorial service open to all family and friends of Robert at a later date still to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, please check in on your loved ones, especially those who live alone.
