Luria Anaidia Thompson

Luria Anaidia Thompson, age 87, passed away peacefully at home in Hambden Township on Dec. 2, 2022.

She was born Oct. 31, 1935, to Haston and Doshia (nee Nelson) Long, in Long West, Va. Luria had lived in the area for the past 50 years.

She was very active in the Chardon Eagles #2261 Woman’s Auxiliary, having served over 40 years in different positions including secretary, treasurer, chaplin, junior vice president, president and trustee. Luria also served as the Ohio State President of the Ohio Eagles Woman’s Auxiliary.

Luria is survived her sons Thomas “Earl” (Regina) Thompson, of Painesville, and Kevin Wayne (Judy) Thompson, of Hambden; grandchildren, Adam, Robert, Jeffrey and Patrick; and great-grandson, Tommy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Thompson (1991); son Bobby (2022); and two brothers and five sisters.

The family will receive friends at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, from 5-8 p.m., with a Chardon Fraternal Order of Eagle’s Woman’s Auxiliary service at 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Chardon Cemetery, Ravenna and Clark roads, Chardon.

Contributions suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses or the Chardon Eagles Woman’s Auxiliary (charities), 417 Water St., Chardon, OH 44024. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
