JUPITER, FL – Josephine M. (nee Halupa) Weagle, age 92, of Jupiter, Fla., passed away peacefully July 3, 2016, at Atria Park of St. Joseph’s Assisted Living under the care of Hospice.
Born March 17, 1924, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to William and Mary (nee Patyrra) Halupa, she had been a Jupiter resident since 1990.
Josephine married William R. Weagle on June 28, 1975, and resided in Cleveland Heights.
She earned a degree from Seton Hall University School of Education and her Master’s Degree in Education from John Carroll University. She taught in the Cleveland School System from 1969 to 1990. During that time, she also worked at May Company, retiring as well in 1990.
Upon moving to Jupiter, she continued to work in retail until 2010.
She will always be remembered for her strong Catholic faith and service to the church, her love and devotion to her husband, her hospitality and friendly smile.
Josephine is survived by her husband’s family, Cyril (Shirley) Weagle, Gordon (Jayne) Weagle and Joyce (Joseph) Rodriguez; 11 beloved nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William R. Weagle; and siblings, John, Steve and Peter Halupa, and sister Cathryn Solomon.
A private family service was held in Chardon, with her being laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland.
