Ronald Clem Fischer

THOMPSON TWP. – Ronald Clem Fischer, age 88, of Thompson Township, passed away Feb. 22, 2022, at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.

He was born on Oct. 1, 1933, to Henry Clem and Edna Mae (nee Lake) Fischer in Pisgah, W. Va. He attended Uniontown Vocational High in Uniontown, Pa.

Ronald married Patricia Louise Cummings on Nov. 5, 1952, in Oakland, Md., spending 69 wonderful years together.

Ron was a semi-driver for many years. For 15 years he was owner/operator. He then worked for Lipton Distributors, where he retired in 1995.

He was involved in many organizations, including Boy Scouts of America, past 4-H Leader, past president of Lake County 4-H Steering Committee, United Steelworks of America Teamsters Union’s 409, 377 and 238.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Chardon.

Ron was a hard worker. Most of all he enjoyed his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Debrah (Bruce) Rohrbaugh and Bonnie (Wayne) Lette, all of Thompson; grandchildren, Tricia (Thomas) Hart, Matthew (Courtney) Rohrbaugh; great-grandchildren, Korbin, Dylan, Bryan and Victoria; brother-in-law, Larry (Ruth) Cummings; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded death by his parents; brother, Gerald (Ann) Fischer; and many aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Feb. 28, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon. (The service will be lived-streamed for family and friends who may not be able to attend the service from the funeral home website.)

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson.
