DOVER, OH – Alice K. Merryman, 93, of Dover, passed away Feb. 18, 2022, in Schoenbrunn Healthcare following a period of declining health.
Born in Copley, Ohio, on Oct. 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Dorothy (nee Duncan) Kendle.
Alice was a passionate teacher, having taught fifth-grade students for the majority of her career at Newbury Schools. Her faith was nurtured in New Mercies Community Church in Geauga County.
She was a volunteer at Geauga Park District for 25 years.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Monti Finn, of Dover, Charlene Lovano, of Bedford, and Dorothy Kostrab, of Chardon; grandchildren, Adam (Brandi) Finn, Andy Finn, Nicolas (Chrisy), Nathan, and Neven Lovano, and Jessica Kostrab; and great-grandchildren, Autumn Shaye, Drew Charles, Kylee Elizabeth, Nicholas James II and Lex.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Charles Layfayette Merryman.
Private inurnment will be held in Claridon Center Cemetery at a later date.
