Julia Burton

HUNTSBURG TWP. – Julia Burton, age 99, of Huntsburg Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021.

She was born in Windsor, Ohio, on Sept. 21, 1922, daughter of the late Michael and Sophia (nee Sakovich) Kuchta.

Julia was Salutatorian of her class and graduated from Huntsburg High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Clifford Burton, on her birthday, Sept. 21, 1946. They were lifelong residents of the area and were married 46 years before he passed away on March 14, 1993. “They are together again.”

Julia was a member of the Huntsburg Historical Society. She worked at Johnson Rubber and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, antiques and cooking, especially traditional ethnic foods.

Julia’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Julia is survived by her two loving children, Bill (Sara) Burton, and Nancy (Peter) Brann; beloved grandchildren, Kim (Frank) Price, Shannon (Matt) Hartman, Wil (Laura) Burton and Josh Burton; and dearly loved great-grandchildren, Maggie, Emma, Henry, Julia, Lucas and Nora.

She also is survived by her sisters Eva Pechota and Nellie Milhoff.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford; parents; brothers, John, Mike and Steve Kuchta; and sisters, Mary Ruzicka, Ann Youshak, Helen Kellogg and Millie McCelland.

Visitation will be held at Sly Family Funeral Home in Middlefield on Dec. 19, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Private funeral services will be held.

Her final resting place will be at Middlefield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Geauga County Veteran Food Pantry, 13211 Aquilla Road, Suite B, Chardon, OH 44024.
