William A. Dysert

CHARDON – William A. Dysert, age 87, of Chardon, passed away May 23, 2016, at Chardon Healthcare.

Born Aug. 28, 1928, in Chardon, to Arthur and Martha (nee Welk) Dysert, he had been a lifelong area resident.

Bill was active in the Geauga Senior Center and enjoyed music, especially playing his harmonica and dulcimer.

He will be remembered as being a man of faith and always positive.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family on the patio and back deck, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Deborah (Ann) Cox, of Waterford, Mich., Gary (Dorothy) Dysert, of Claridon Township, and Daniel Dysert, of Wickliffe; grandson, William “Bill” (Kali) Dysert, of Claridon; and great-grandchildren, Breana, Molly and Michael Dysert, and Jaiden Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane “Molly” (nee Kinnaird) Dysert; granddaughter, Jamie Dysert; and sisters, Ruth Daniels and Betty Stillisano.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. on June 18 at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon, with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. at the church.

Burial will take place following the service at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
