MIDDLEFIELD – Elizabeth Bernice (nee Taylor) Grant, age 79, of Middlefield, formerly of Aquilla Village, passed away on Jan. 15, 2021, at Chardon HealthCare Center.
Elizabeth was born in Mt. Pleasant Township, Washington, Pa., on Sept. 22, 1941, to Albert and Thelma (nee Horner) Taylor.
Elizabeth was raised on a dairy farm. She was the “mother” to dozens of chickens that followed her around as she fed them. Her husband trusted her to take care of the farm, which she just loved.
After moving to the Chardon area, Elizabeth worked for Sanborn Plastics in Chardon. She attended the Pilgrim Christian Church in Chardon.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Grant III, of Cuyahoga Falls, and David (Vicki) Grant, of Raleigh, N.C.; daughter, Sherry (Marc) Hospoder, of Tennessee; brother, William (Wendy) Taylor, of Washington; sister Carol Lanza, of Youngstown; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Alvin Grant Jr.; and sisters Thelma June Fonte, Gladys “Marie” McTheny, Norma Jessie Tarajkowski.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, from 5-8 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Claridon Center Cemetery, Mayfield Road, Claridon Township, immediately following the service.
