HAMBDEN TWP. – Daniel James MacFarlane, age 87, a lifelong resident of Hambden Township, passed away on Dec. 24, 2020, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
He was born July 16, 1933, to James and Catherine (nee Hibbard) MacFarlane, in Oil City, Pa.
Daniel served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was the chief union steward for TRW Euclid Aircraft Division and a member of the Church of St. Mary in Chardon.
He loved fishing and boating, and was a private pilot. He was an active member of the EAA.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Gayle (nee McGrath) MacFarlane; sons, Daniel Ayers, of the Philippines, Michael MacFarlane, of Chardon, and John MacFarlane, of Chardon; daughter, Lynn (Timothy) Parsons, of Chardon; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Sally and Susie.
A private burial was held at Calvary Cemetery in Erie, Pa.
