CHARDON – Edna Vollmer Beharry, age 90, of Chardon, died at home surrounded by loving family on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at her home.
She was born May 14, 1930, in Cleveland, to Henry and Grace (nee Reeves) Wehagen.
Edna was a longtime member of the St. Luke Episcopal Church in Chardon and was an active member of the Women’s Fellowship.
She started working at Bessie Benner Metzenbaum School as a bus driver and then as an executive secretary. She also was a Clerk at Geauga County Court House.
Edna worked in the Boca Hotel Gift Shop, in Boca Raton, Fla. When Edna lived in Deerfield Beach, Fla., she loved to sing with the Royal Palm Sweet Adeline’s in West Palm Beach, Fla.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Pam) Vollmer Jr., of Willoughby; daughter Jill (Harold) Baker, of Daphne, Ala.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and longtime loving companion Charles Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jack Monroe Vollmer Sr.; second husband, John P. Beharry; daughter Judith M. May; seven brothers, Charles, Marvin, Allen, Roy, Robert, Donald and Victor; and four sisters, Clarice Griffith, Odell Stell, Betty Wehagen and Doris Butts.
Private Family Services were held.
Interment is at the Columbarium of St. Luke Episcopal Church, Chardon.
