Robert “Bob” Boettcher, age 96, died peacefully June 30, 2020. He was born on Aug. 1, 1923, in Cleveland.

He was the  beloved husband  for 62 years of Edith Boettcher (nee Pierce, deceased). Loving father of Linda Ebersbacher (husband, Mark), Janine Stone (husband, Rob), Vicki Bradford (husband, David). Cherished grandfather of Hayley  Iosue ( Ebersbacher, husband Vince Iosue), Sarah Bradford, Zachary Stone, Ryan Bradford, Noah Stone, Joshua Ebersbacher and Christopher Stone.

He was very proud to see all seven of his grandchildren graduate from college.

Bob lived in Chester Township since 2008, and prior to that Euclid.

He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio for over 65 years.

Bob loved to dance — or as we like to refer to it, “floated across the dance floor with our mom” — roller skate, bowl, garden, play cards, listen to books and big band music. He also was an avid fisherman.

He also loved dogs and had many grandpups he loved to hold.

He was a strong man, both physically and emotionally. He made many friends at the Chesterland Senior Center and always had a quick response/joke at the ready.

Bob had many amazing caregivers who helped take care of him as their own, allowing him to stay in his own home. To them, we are forever grateful.

A private celebration of our father’s life will be held at a later date.

MONTVILLE TWP. – Mackenzie David Stone, 31, of Montville Township, left this life unexpectedly Friday, May 29, 2020, due to a construction accident.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Chelsey Bleck Stone; and son, Hunter Mackenzie Stone, born June 4, 2020.

He also leaves his endearing father and mother, Daniel and Linda Stone, of Burton; his loving sister, Mallori Stone (Dino Bagnola); nephew, Milo Mackenzie Stone Bagnola; grandmother, Patricia Pfouts; uncle, David Stone (Debra); aunts, Lori Hess (Brian) and Leita Cirjak; in-laws, Lori and Russ Bleck; brother-in-laws, Rusty (Bre) Bleck and Tanner Bleck; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tucker Pfouts; and paternal grandparents, Lee Hill Stone and Dick Stone.

Mackenzie was born and raised in Burton and graduated from Berkshire High School, where he was involved in sports and, most importantly, developed lifelong friendships. He attended Mount Union College and then graduated from Ohio State ATI in Wooster.

Chelsey and Mack first met in 2009 at Lake Erie College and fate brought them together again in 2014. They were married Sept. 3, 2017, and later moved to Montville, where they worked together to make their house a home.

Mack most enjoyed time spent with his wife, family and friends along with their adopted dogs and cats. He was always the smiling face in the room, making any situation better for all those around him. Mack’s humble and kind demeanor, and his easy-going manner were what consistently drew others to him.

A simple man, he loved his country, Cleveland sports, the outdoors, machinery, movie quotes, a well-kept lawn, and a good beer with friends. No matter what name you knew him by (Kenzie, Mack Daddy, DuraMack Diesel, or even just Mack), you knew when he was present you would have a great time.

All will remember him as a hard-working, positive role model, and an all-around caring and fun person who never let passing time change his relationships. He lived his favorite quote, “If you’re good enough to brag, someone else will do it for you.”

His unique characteristics shaped his dreams of simply being the greatest dad, husband, brother, son, uncle and friend he could possibly be. Amidst his sudden passing, Mack’s life will inevitably leave endless positive ripple effects on his family and friends for a lifetime to come.

A note from Chelsey: “He was the most humble man I ever met. His sweet smile and kind heart made me fall in love with him instantly. The day he asked me awkwardly to be his girlfriend (“will you go steady with me?”), we were volunteering at the Akron Canton Foodbank. I never thought a person could make me so happy. He was my best friend, my support system, my rock, my everything. He didn’t talk much…but when he did, his thoughts always turned into some sort of dad joke that made me roll my eyes. I will forever cherish the memories we created. Mackenzie David Stone, thank you for simply being the greatest man I ever met.”

A celebration of life will be held from 7-9:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at the Berkshire High School football field.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Mack’s family at https://www.constructionangels.us/mack-stone-family.
