Robert G. Lampman, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2019, in Chardon.
He was born Nov. 29, 1929, in Chardon, to Robert E. and Mabel (nee Burnham) Lampman.
Robert married Mary (nee Divoky) on June 6, 1953, in Chardon. Mary preceded him in death on April 2, 1998.
Robert was a 1947 graduate of Chardon High School.
After more than 30 years of service he retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1993. After retirement, he worked for the Geauga County Transit for 10 years.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, making maple syrup, traveling, music, concerts and enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
Robert is survived by his sons, Thomas Lampman, of Chardon, Edward (Lori) Lampman, of University Heights, Stephen Lampman, of Chardon; daughter, Linda (Richard) Hederstrom, of Chardon; brother Ken Lampman, of Arizona; grandchildren, Richard Hederstrom, of New Jersey, Kristin (Kevin) Lustic, of Utah, Julia Hederstrom and David Lampman, of University Heights; and great-granddaughter, Anna Lustic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; siblings Donald, Eleanor, Betty, Ruth, Keith, Ron and also as young siblings, Charles, Glenn and Lois.
Family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, from 5-7 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon. Interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
