CHARDON – Harold “Hal” Bryce Wilcox, age 79, of Chardon, died March 10, 2016, at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon.
Born Nov. 5, 1936, in Layfayette, Ohio, to Albert H. and Mildred F. (nee Rehard) Wilcox, Hal had been a Chardon resident since 1964.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, before becoming a teacher at Chardon High School for 36 years, retiring in 2000.
He was a member of VFW Post 6519 in Chardon and enjoyed gardening, traveling and studying history.
Hal is survived by his sons, Christopher Race (Lee Ann) Wilcox, of Concord Township, Steven Travis Wilcox, of Chardon, and Jason Adam Wilcox, of Bozman, Mont.; and grandson, Benjamin Bryce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Sandra Sue (nee Sidler) Wilcox, whom he married July 18, 1964, in Wilkinsburg, Pa.
Private family services were held.
