MIDDLEFIELD – Janet Louise Gawrys, age 63, of Middlefield, went home to be with Jesus on Feb. 6, 2019.
Born on Jan. 9, 1956, to John and Lulua (nee Bell) Gawrys, Janet was a happy person who never met a stranger. She spent many years at St. John’s Villa (Carrollton, Ohio) before moving to the Geauga County Home. The last three years, she has resided at Briar Hill in Middlefield.
Janet attended St. Helen’s Catholic Church.
Janet enjoyed crafts such as making potholders, knitting and embroidery. She loved teasing her family and friends, making new friends and shopping.
Janet participated in the Special Olympics. Earning her G.E.D. was a life-long goal she obtained in 2014, proudly celebrating her accomplishment along with her great-niece Meranda Marsch’s high school graduation.
Janet is survived by her brother, Bill (Judy) Gawrys, of Manchester, Tenn., brother-in-law, Ramon Marsch, of Middlefield; a niece and five nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and many cousins and lots of friends.
Janet was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Jane Marsch.
A memorial service will be held at a later time to remember and celebrate her life.
