HAMBDEN TWP. – Michael Lewis Rear, age 33, of Hambden Township, died suddenly Friday, Feb. 19, 2016.
Born April 8, 1982, in Claridon Township, to Blake and Joyce (nee Lewis) Rear, he was a lifelong Chardon area resident.
Michael was a 2000 graduate of Chardon High School and a 2004 graduate of The Ohio State University. He was a project coordinator for The Millstone Management Group in Gates Mills.
Michael was the treasurer of the Geauga County Maple Festival Board, he coordinated the SAP Run and officiated high school and youth football, basketball and baseball.
He was an avid golfer and a proud alumni of The Ohio State University.
Survivors include his parents, of Hambden; brother, David Rear, of Hambden; uncle, Hugh Rear, of Hambden; aunt, Roberta (Roger) Durham, of Burton; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon. Burial will immediately follow at Hambden Cemetery.
