Robert Martin Priem

MIDDLEFIELD – Robert Martin “Bob” Priem, age 78, of Middlefield, died Nov. 21, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 14, 1940, in Painesville, to Fred and Helen (nee Bartlett) Priem, he was a lifelong area resident.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy, as a member of the Construction Battalion “SeaBees,” stationed in Bermuda.

He was passionate about raising and showing quarter horses with his children.

Bob was the founder of the Perkins Pancake House in Chardon until 1981.

He was an owner/operator dump truck driver and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

He was a social butterfly enjoying his friends throughout Middlefield.

Bob loved to travel with his fifth-wheeler, taking family to many states along the East Coast.

His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Doug (Melissa) Priem, of Eastlake, David (Chrissy) Priem, of Parkman Township, and Dawn (Dave) Goodfield, of Painesville; and grandchildren, Tyler, Nick, Caitlin and Tommy.

Bob also leaves his sisters Wanda (Don) Jacobs, Marlene Thomas and Sharon (Danny) Stone; and his beloved dog, Nina.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Ella Jean, in 2015; parents; and siblings Viola Milczewski and Albert “Punk” Priem.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, from 5-7 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m.

The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
