Willard Robert Duns Jr.

BURTON TWP. – Willard “Will” Robert Duns Jr., age 74, of Burton Township, died unexpectedly at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center on Oct. 31, 2018.

Born Nov. 27, 1943, in East Cleveland, to Willard and Helen (nee Kohler) Duns Sr., Will was a Burton resident for over 55 years.

Will was passionate about music, working as the “sound man” for several local bands and The Great Geauga County Fair.

He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, but first and foremost his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Will retired after 33 years of faithful service as a lieutenant and paramedic from Shaker Heights Fire Department in 1998.

Survivors are his beloved wife of 35 years, Janet (nee Eades), of Burton; children, Debbie Bowman, of Chardon, Willard Dan (Karen) Duns, of Arizona, Denise (Neil) Cunningham, of Gates Mills, Dale (Faun) Duns, of Arizona, Robert Willard Duns, of Florida, Holly Duns, of Cleveland, and Kristin Duns, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Merissa (Bob) Baumgartner, Kali, Amber and Ky Bowman, Ryan (Andrea) Hare, Clay, Nicholas and Lexie Cunningham, and Robken and Risa Duns; great-grandchildren, David, Sophia and Harper.

He also leaves his brother-in-law, Timothy (Diane) Eades; sister-in-law, Becky (Mike) Berg; and nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Ericka, Melissa and Mikey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.

The funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 12686 Bass Lake Road, Munson Township.

Burial will follow at Welton Cemetery, Burton.
