CHARDON – Eileen F. (nee Craig) Moore, age 87, of Chardon, passed away at Heather Hill on May 6, 2017.
Born on March 20, 1930, in Cleveland, she was a 1948 graduate of Brush High School and a graduate of Kent State University. She married Paul A. Moore on Dec. 22, 1949, at Lyndhurst Community Church.
Eileen taught elementary school at Chardon Schools in the 1960s and was active as a leader for both the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts when her children were young.
She was a long-time member of the Pilgrim Christian Church and taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was a member of the bell choir.
Eileen enjoyed sailing for many years and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul; children, David (Diane), of Massillon, Rick, of Windsor, Steve, of Chardon, Leetha (Tom) Seitz, of Unionville, and Paula (Les) Kovach, of Montville Township; grandchildren, Jonathan Moore, Jennifer (Felix) Huang, Elizabeth (Gabriel) Langbauer, Dan (Lauren) and Jeremy Seitz, Ben, Matt (Lisa Clifton) and Doug (Amanda) Kovach, Mariah and Paul Moore; seven great-granddaughters; and sister, Donna Raney, of Florence, Ala.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 11 in the Pilgrim Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 202 South Hambden St., Chardon.
A memorial service will be held in the church Sanctuary at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pilgrim Christian Church Bell Tower Fund.
