HARPERSFIELD – Josephine M. Johnson, age 91, of Harpersfield, passed away April 23 at University Hospitals main campus in Cleveland, surrounded by family members.
Born Aug. 27, 1925, in Cleveland, to Frank and Antionette (nee Stepka) Janota, she had been a resident of Harpersfield since 1986, prior of Perry and Montville Township.
Josephine Marie Janota married Robert Walter Johnson Sr. at St. Patrick’s Church in Thompson Township on Feb. 3, 1951. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Geneva and enjoyed gardening.
Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved and cherished by many.
Survivors include her daughters, Marylou (Vince) Traven, of Trumbull Township, Kathy (Stan) Willey, of Keller, Texas, and Connie (Dan) Wright, of Geneva Township; son, Robert (Diane) Johnson Jr., of Madison Township; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Johnson Sr.; siblings, Millie Mracek, Lil Evans, Mitsy Rabas, Frank and James Janota; and great-grandson Ryan.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. April 26, 2017, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. April 27 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 594 W Main St., Geneva, with burial to follow at Montville Township Cemetery.
