Scott Todd Villers

PARKMAN TWP. – Scott Todd Villers, 57, of Parkman Township, died unexpectedly at his home on Jan. 31, 2017.

He was born in Warren, the oldest son of Donald and Kathryn Villers.

He grew up in Parkman and graduated from Cardinal High School in 1978. He went on to start his own business, Villers Electric, in 1987.

In 1981, Scott married his high school sweetheart, Denise Fricker, of Middlefield. Together they built their dream home on a corner of the Moss Family Farm in Parkman. They have two daughters, Andrea Kathryn Villers, 27, of Solon, and Crystal Ann (Villers) Kick, 25, of Middlefield.

Scott was a godly Christian man and active member of the Parkman Congregational Church, where he was an elder. He participated in the Gideon’s International, distributing God’s word to those who needed it.

Scott was an active community member serving on the Parkman Zoning Commission and serving for years at the annual pancake breakfast.

Scott was also a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America and was the chairman for the Parkman Boy Scout Committee.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, camping and 4-wheeling with family and friends.

Scott cared deeply for his friends, family and community, and demonstrated his love in acts of service to anyone in need.

He will be greatly missed by many.

Scott leaves his beloved wife, Denise; daughter Andrea, of Solon; daughter Crystal and her husband, Cody Kick, of Middlefield; and father, Donald, and his wife, Cherie Villers.

He also has two brothers, Guy and his wife, Tricia Villers, of Dayton, and Jeff and his wife, Tracy Villers, of Bainbridge Township.

He has several nieces and nephews as well as aunts, uncles and cousins who grieve his passing.

He was predeceased by his mother, Kathryn (nee Moss) Villers.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Parkman Congregational Church, 18265 Madison Road, with Pastor Will Coley officiating.

Burial will follow the service at Overlook Cemetery in Parkman.
