CHARDON – Fred T. Klatka, age 94, of Chardon, passed away Sept. 11, 2016, at his home.
Born May 5, 1922, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, to Stanley and Sophie (nee Jankowski) Klatka, he had been a longtime area resident.
Fred Klatka married Betty Nutt, in Chardon, on June 28, 1947.
He was a longtime technical service representative for the Hill Acme Company, retiring in 2002.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharon (William) Muenz, of Thompson Township, Elaine (Mark) Nelisse, of Montville Township, and Diane (Howard) Benjamin, of Chagrin Falls; sons, Dr. Fred (Pat) Klatka, of Raccoon, Ky., and Paul (Linda) Klatka, of Chardon; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Sarah Butler, Stella Butler, Edeline Goshe, Stanley Klatka, Henry Klatka, Joe Klatka, Paul Klatka and John Klatka.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
