Thomas John Mullen died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at the age of 87 in Dublin, Ohio.
He was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Chester, Pa., to John and Mary (nee Crego) Mullen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John T. “Jack” Mullen Jr.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Yvonne (nee Brill) Mullen; his children, Thomas, Renée, John and Elisabeth; his grandchildren, Sean, Rachel, John Christopher, Emily and Natasha; and his great-grandchildren, Faolan, Kieran, Sibeal and Trinity.
Tom’s legal career spanned 50-plus years, which included representing the Geauga County Welfare Department (Geauga County Job and Family Services), private practice and finishing as a Domestic Relations Magistrate before his eventual retirement in 2006.
His desire to help others motivated his decision to become an attorney. He expressed the best part of his career was his time with the Welfare Department, when he was able to help abused, neglected and dependent children.
He often said his greatest accomplishment in life was getting Yvonne Brill to marry him. His second biggest accomplishment was having four wonderful children.
