Leola Jane (nee Wood) Romano, age 92, “Jane” to all who knew her, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sept. 27, 2023, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Claridon Township.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1930, in Saxonburg, Pa., the youngest of five children born to William Jennings and Mildred Leola Wood.
Jane especially loved sewing, baking and square dancing, and was a prolific reader, avid golfer, bowler and card player.
Jane was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Peter J. Romano, of Butler, Pa.; and daughter-in-law, Kathy (Bruce).
She is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her four sons, Joseph (Sally), of North Carolina, Bruce, of Ohio, Philip (Susan), of Ohio, and Michael (Robbin), of Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends.
A private memorial mass will be planned at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Chardon, at a later date.
