Edward J. Stepic Sr., age 101, passed away on Aug. 9, 2023, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born Sept. 25, 1921, to Frank and Mary (nee Overik) Stepic, in Warrensville Heights.
Edward was raised in Warrensville Hts. He married Olga Dacyn in 1948 and moved to Bedford, where they raised their family.
He enjoyed his vegetable garden, going to the Hartsville Flea Market, working for the Ohio State Highway Department and playing the accordion. He was active in Polka Bands around the area.
Edward proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He was in a total of five battles and campaigns.
He is survived by his son David L. Stepic, of Hambden Township; granddaughter, Chrissy (Randy) Burlinson; and great-granddaughters, Maise and Sydny. Edward also leaves nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga; and son Edward J. Stepic Jr.
The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, from 10-11 a.m., with the funeral service to begin at 11 a.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. Burial will then follow at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.
