Theodore (Ted) A. Schienke, 83, of Chardon, passed away June 24, 2023, at University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Collinwood, Ohio, to the late Olga and Alex Schienke.
Growing up, Ted was raised on a farm in Newbury Township with his two brothers and baby sister. He later graduated from Newbury High School.
He married the love of his life, Eunice (Yurchek) Schienke, on Aug. 15, 1964.
Ted enjoyed supporting his family, working in drywall his entire work life and becoming very skilled at his craft. He loved every minute he was able to spend with his family and friends, traveling and being outside with nature. One of his greatest joys in life was sharing the beautiful hope for the future in the Bible with others as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by his children, Danielle (Doug) Magdych and Tamara (John) Dryburgh; grandchildren, Lexie (Morgan) Howard, and Luke, Karissa and Aaron Dryburgh; and brothers, Albert Schienke and Richard Schienke.
Ted is preceded in death by his loving wife, Eunice (March 17, 2012); and sister, Dorothy Ruth Schienke.
A service will be held at Chardon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 110 Woodiebrook Road, Chardon, on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 5 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in Claridon Center Cemetery, next to his wife, Eunice.
