CHARDON – Joyce L. Cleveland, age 70, of Chardon, passed away suddenly Aug. 3, 2016, at her home.
Born June 13, 1946, in St. Paul, Minn., to Jerome and Ella (nee Dahl) Loberg, she had been a resident of the area since 1988, coming from Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Joyce LaRaine Loberg married Ralph Cleveland on May 29, 1970, in Camp Hill, Md.
She enjoyed golf, playing cards, shopping and going to the casino.
Joyce volunteered at WomenSafe and took part in the annual Liver Walk.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph, of Chardon; children, Kirsten (David) Downey, of Columbus, Jamie (Scott) Henderson, of Chardon, and Phil (Rebecca) Cleveland, of Jefferson; eight grandchildren; siblings, Judy Scaggs, of Virginia, Nancy Blumenschein, of Maryland, Barbara (Larry) Rosenbaum, of Maryland, and John (Diane) Loberg, of Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 8 at Grace Lutheran Church, 8091 Plank Road, Thompson, with burial to follow at Hambden Township Cemetery.
