MIDDLEFIELD – Harriet J. (nee Dubbs) Brown, age 85, of Middlefield, passed away June 23, 2016, at Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Mrs. Brown was born in Bedford and was a resident of Middlefield for two years, and a former resident of Mansfield for 33 years.
Harriet spent most of her life raising her four children, but also worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller.
Harriet operated a business dyeing and selling wool, and teaching rug hooking nationwide. She had been in many art shows, winning numerous ribbons on her works of art.
She was member of the Daughters of Revolution. Harriet spent her free time birdwatching and rug hooking.
Harriet is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gerald F.; daughters, Jacqueline L. D’Sa (husband Noel), Susan L. Dacek, Barbara J. Reagle (husband Clif); son Gerald E.; grandchildren, Matthew Dacek (wife Amber), Sarah Dacek, Laura Welling (husband Jason), Maureen Dacek, Clifton Reagle Jr., Cecelia Reagle, Josephine Carlson (husband David, III), Geoffery Cooper, Jason Brown (wife Emily) and Daniel Brown; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Gillespie (husband John); and many nieces and nephews.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, Henry P. and Henrietta (nee Shue) Dubbs.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. July 1 at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road, followed by a reception in the Funeral Home Community room.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.
