Ratcliffe, Cynthia and MackCynthia and her loving husband Mack Ratcliffe were tragically taken from us on June 22, 2016.

They enjoyed their horses, hummingbirds, Kokopellis and their Kiva Ranch living.

Their generosity knew no bounds. Their annual Thanksgiving parties were legendary and they always opened their home and hearts to friends and family.

Cynthia Ann (nee Eldridge) Ratcliffe was born Oct. 6, 1952, and raised in Chardon. She graduated from Chardon High School and Kent State University.

She was the executive director of the Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority before retiring and moving to Sonoita, Ariz., on July 4, 2000.

While living in Ohio, Cynthia was very active with the Geauga County Maple Festival.

She enjoyed country line dancing and trips to Las Vegas.

Cynthia was a beloved mother to Benjamin Brazis (Dunetta Yacovella), Zachary Brazis, Joleigh Burnett (Joe); grandmother to Caleb and Addison Burnett; sister to Claudia Battaglia, Sara Brougher (Ed), Gisela Hibsch (Martin) and Keith Eldridge (Connie); and aunt/Tante to Mindy, Valerie, Nick, Nathaniel, Marnie, Caroline and Patricia.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Doris Eldridge.

Mack Litton Ratcliffe was born July 2, 1946, to Rufus and Lynette Ratcliffe, and was also raised in Chardon.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war and later attended Kent State University, before moving to Tucson, Ariz., in the early 1970s to begin a long career in banking.

He was extremely fond of all things equestrian and was never without a horse in his life.

He was an enthusiastic participant in the annual Los Charros and Anvil rides, bringing with him his cowboy spirit and gear.

Mack was gregarious and sociable to the core, always extending open arms to friends new and old, warmly welcoming them into his life and into the Kiva, where you could probably hear blaring country music.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus.

He is survived by his mother, Lynette; sisters, Christine Larkin and Nancy (Michael) Tvergyak; children, Mack Jr., Megan and Kip; and granddaughter, Kaylee.

Celebration of Life will be held at The Ranch House, in Sonoita, on June 30 at 5 p.m. and a memorial gathering will be held at Burr Funeral Home 116 South St., Chardon, on July 26 from 3-8 p.m.

A private family burial will take place at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.

Donations suggested to the Santa Cruz County Humane Society (santacruzhumanesociety.org) and Geauga County Humane Society (www.geaugahumane.org).

Arrangements by Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Chardon. Information and condolences online at www.burrservice.com.
