CHARDON – Leigh (nee Kapis) Brown, age 67, of Chardon, died June 15, 2016, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Claridon Township.
Born Dec. 5, 1948, in Cleveland, to John and Lenore (nee Anderson) Kapis, she was a lifelong Chardon resident.
Leigh married her high school sweetheart, James H. Brown, on Sept. 9, 1966, in Chardon.
She enjoyed reading, writing and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Victoria (Douglas) Brown Seredich, of Chardon, and James H. (Rebecca) Brown II, of Chardon; grandchildren, Jacob and Sidnee Seredich, and James H. Brown III and Erin Brown; and siblings Michael (Kathy), Jack (Edna) and Charles Kapis and Jill (Kay) Kravcisin.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James, whom she missed dearly; parents; and sister Tammy Kapis.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. June 23 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. June 24 at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
