MIDDLEFIELD – Opal Elizabeth Pitts, age 66 of Middlefield, passed away June 11, 2016, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
Opal was born on Feb. 26, 1950, in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of Russell Vaughn and Nora (nee Payton) Vaughn Pitts.
She was a nurse’s aide at a Jefferson Nursing Home.
Opal married George Reed Jr. on Jan. 10, 1992.
She attended Horizon Christian Assembly Church.
She enjoyed horseback riding, playing Bingo and going to flea markets and garage sales.
Her beloved husband, George Reed, of 24 years; daughters, Tina Stilwell, of Washington, and Tawana Cooperwood, of Warren; and 10 grandchildren will miss her.
Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. June 16 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield.
Her Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. June 17 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in North Kingsville, Ohio.
