CHARDON – Virginia Wilcox (nee Young), age 88, of Chardon passed away unexpectedly Oct. 30, 2021, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Chardon, to the late Sam and Nellie (nee Molzon) Young.
She was the loving Mother to Connie Varner, Arlene (Lee) McCurry and Alice Wilcox; and grandmother to Jason (Brittany) Varner and Chanda (Ryan) Sheppard.
Mom was a volunteer at UH Geauga for 22 years. She was an avid reader and loved to watch the Indians and Cavs. She was a long-time attendee at the Willoughby Hills Friends Church.
She was a lifelong resident of Chardon and enjoyed many friends in and around the town.
She was a devoted servant to the Lord, and when she called God, she never got a busy signal.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, with the funeral service to follow at 12 noon.
Interment will be at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
