Margaret Ruth Judd (nee Lanham), age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., to John and Betty (nee Jones) Lanham.
Margaret married Rev. Kenneth A. Judd on June 6, 1959, at Collingdale Baptist Church in Pennsylvania.
Ken and Margaret began their pastoral ministry in Shelby, Ohio, from 1959-1960. Their ministry then moved to Pennsylvania from 1960-1964, then returned to minister in North Bloomfield, from 1964-1969, and in Norwalk, from 1969-1986.
Ken and Margaret settled in the family homestead in Hambden Township in 1986.
Margaret loved her role as a pastor’s wife and mother to her five children, as well as being a spiritual mentor to a myriad of others. She also worked in the communities in which she resided, from the daycare at Faith Memorial Church in Sandusky (1970s and early 1980s), Burger Chef and Goodwill Stores in Norwalk (early to mid-1980s), and Burger King in Chardon, from 1986 until she retired in 1996 to help care for her grandchildren.
Margaret shared that her favorite pastime was talking, but she also loved to play the piano, organ and sing hymns. She also enjoyed completing jigsaw and word puzzles. She was an avid fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, as well as the old favorites of Perry Mason, Matlock, Heat of the Night and Walker Texas Ranger.
Margaret and Ken enjoyed many trips to visit their oldest daughter and family in New England, and traveling with their children and grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Rev. Kenneth A. Judd, of nearly 62 years, of Hambden; daughters, Brenda Rodrigues, of Taunton, Mass., Sharon (Chris) Fetter, North Fairfield, Ohio, Heidi (Steve) Seidel, Norwalk, Ohio, Cindy (Roland) Alexander, of Hambden; son, Robert (Kim) Judd, of Vermilion; grandchildren, Jonathan (Beth) Rodrigues, of West Bridgewater, Mass., Brenden (Christine) Seidel, of Columbus, Stephanie (Arvin) Isabel, of Weymouth, Mass., Andrew Seidel, of Columbus, Matthew (Jacquie) Alexander, of Fairport Harbor, Desiree (Rick) Doberstein, of Concord Township, Liza (Caleb) Lapish, of Hartville, and Isabella Judd, of Vermilion; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Lambert, of Glen Mills, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
