CLARIDON TWP. – Robert J. Brown Jr., age 75, of Claridon Township, died May 17, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born April 18, 1941, in Elyria, to Robert J. and Cleo (nee Ernst) Brown Sr. He lived in Elyria before moving to Newbury Township, in 1954.
Robert enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
For 32 years, he worked for ODOT, retiring in 1991 as a supervisor.
Survivors include his wife, Cathi (nee Freeman) Brown, whom he married at Burton Congregational Church on Oct. 23, 1959; children, Kelly (Danny) Gerstenberger, of Cuyahoga Falls, Shannan (Ray) Brown-Rouse, of Canton, Erin Johnson, of Cleveland, Eric Brown, of Cleveland, and Kim (Danny) Sturm, of Parkman Township; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jean (Chris) Lentzakis, Dorothy Schienbart and Sandi (Kent) Conn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was another friend of Bill for 33 years.
