CHARDON – Carole Ann Blackburn (nee Andexler), age 75, of Chardon, passed away on Dec. 13, 2020, due to COVID-19-related illness.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1945, to Edward and Eleanor (nee Ritter) Andexler and raised in the Lee-Harvard area of Cleveland.

She married Conrad Tracy Blackburn in 1964 and raised her two children as a single-parent after her divorce in 1977.

Carole completed her associate degree at Lakeland Community College and maintained a love of learning throughout her life. Most of her career was spent as a legal secretary for various law firms in Cleveland, Columbus and eventually, Washington D.C.

Her creative energy pushed her to pursue and expand upon her artistic talents through many mediums with her principal focus on fiber arts and sewing. She loved music and theatre and literature, and her passion and devotion to creative endeavors was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Janice L Cox, of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Theresa Fauver, of Chardon; son, Mark Blackburn, of Reston, Va.; and granddaughter, Ashley Fauver, of Mentor.

She was the strength and central figure to our small family and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Eleanor; and brother Richard Andexler.

The family will determine a future date for the Celebration of Life service due to concerns over COVID-19.

Arrangements entrusted to Burr Funeral Home in Chardon. Information and condolences online at www.burrservice.com.
