MIDDLEFIELD – Clara Marie Simon, 88, of Middlefield, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Briar Hill Nursing Home.
She was born June 9, 1931, in Middlefield, to the late Victor and Victoria (nee Majcher) Karasiewicz.
Clara was a cashier at White Bros. for 30 years.
She was one of the first members of St. Lucy Catholic Church in Middlefield, a member of the Middlefield Senior Center and enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren.
Clara will be sadly missed by her daughters, Tami (Jerome) Farrar, Tally (Walt) Hostetler, both of Middlefield; five grandchildren, Matthew Farrar, Nicole Farrar, Ashley Farrar, Tyler (Rebecca) Hostetler, Jeremy Hostetler; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Emryn Hostetler, and baby Hostetler on the way; sisters Victoria Sefcik, Stefeny (Arnie) Sabo; and sisters-in-law, Joan Carpenter and Florence Simon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Simon, whom she married Sept. 6, 1958; sisters Jean George, Jessie Flood, Jennie Markuszka, Ada Loza; and brothers, John Ziegfield, Walter Karasiewicz, Roger Karasiewicz and Stan Karey.
A private graveside service was held in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
