Joan T. (nee Goskey) Pulling, age 79, of Concord Township, died Jan. 21, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at Tapestry Senior Living in Willoughby.
Born Aug. 22, 1940, in Cleveland, to Frank and Loraine (nee Ford) Goskey, she was a Burton resident for 30 years.
Joan loved making dinner for her family, she was an avid reader and traveler. She also enjoyed the casino and her “St. Helen’s craft club,” a.k.a. poker.
She and George owned and operated Belle’s for 30 years, known for her famous homemade pies.
She was a mother and a mentor to all who met her.
Joan’s greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, George Pulling, whom she married Aug. 23, 1958; children Elizabeth (Stuart) Markowitz, George Pulling, Laura (Bill) Cress, Craig (Denise) Pulling, Steve Pulling, Jenny Pulling, Debbie Cifani and Scott Pulling; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Dan Buehner.
Joan also leaves her siblings Michael Goskey, Barbara Carpenter, Noreen Gottschling, Ken Goskey, Gary Goskey, Cindy Schultz, Janet Dylong, Karen Herwig and Greg Goskey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children Mario Pulling and Maria Buehner; and siblings Lois Kresak and Kathy Goskey.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, 1-5 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m., at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township, with burial to follow at Welton Cemetery, Burton.
