CHARDON – Janice L. (nee McMaster) Neely, age 93, of Chardon, passed away surrounded by family at the Slovene Home in Cleveland on Jan. 10, 2020.
Janice was born on June 12, 1926, to Thomas and Florence (nee Peshek) McMaster in Chardon. On Sept. 18, 1943, she married William Neely, in Marysville, Calif., before he went to serve in World War II. Janice worked for GE during the war, but spent most of her time as a homemaker, raising three sons.
Her hobbies included painting landscapes and animals. She also restored furniture and refinished rocking horses.
Janice liked to cook and bake, and, above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her sons, William (Patricia) Neely Jr., John (Barbara) Neely and Thomas (Rhonda) Neely; grandchildren, Michael, Christine, Donna, Timothy, Travis, Stephanie and Autumn; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers Richard and Walter; and sisters Mary and Linda.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents; two infant siblings; brothers Thomas, William, Robert and Jack; and sister Gloria.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
