CLARIDON TWP. – Brenda J. (nee Workman) Starr, age 67, of Claridon Township, died March 21, 2016, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Claridon.
Born Nov. 20, 1947, in West Virginia, to Lovel and Connie (nee Sanders) Workman, she came to Claridon in 1965.
Brenda enjoyed trap and skeet shooting and she was an accomplished bow hunter, a champion archer, an avid motorcycle rider and was a belly dancer.
Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandchildren.
Brenda was a machinist who worked in different shops in the area for many years.
She is survived by her husband, David S. Starr, whom she married Oct. 16, 1965 (Sweetest Day); children, Sheila (Wayne) Burge, of Bainbridge Township, and Randy (Tina) Starr, of Middlefield; grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Burge, Michael David Burge, Spencer Thomas Starr and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Starr; and siblings Martha Koch, Larry Workman, Dorothy Crow, Shirley Tallman and Charlotte Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Joyce Hillenbrandt.
The family will receive friends March 24, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A funeral service will be held March 25 at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Claridon Center Cemetery.
